j'adore terry

When i have time i always visit Terry Richardson's Diary and go through the archives and lose myself in his pictures i use a lot of them for my desktops on my macbook. The signature white background portraits are my favorite and i love the fact that he is including himself in a lot of them.

Alexander McQueen a/w 12

Sarah Burton's last collection for Alexander Mcqueen was shown at PFW, she called it beautiful future. A future full of volume, Mongolian hair, cape backs, jacquards, silks and lots of ruffled candy floss pink organzas. All of them bound with metal harnesses and oversized 3 dimentional belts.

Beautiful future. The soft bed of the forest floor by day and night. The domed caps and rippling underbellies of mushrooms and other fungi. Light and shade, power and protection, hyper-femininity and strength.

The silhouette becomes increasingly three-dimensional and overblown as the collection progresses. Shape, texture, print and embellishment explode, initially from the waist and finally from the neck down. Feathers, furs and silver dandelion and enamel blossom embroideries float on textured surfaces. Funnel necks, Mongolian lamb collars, trapeze lines, cape-backs and bell-shaped, rolled skirts dominate. Pale silk and mohair jacquards appliquéd with felt flowers give way to black and white laser-cut pony-skin over leather and hand-massaged printed, degradé silks and ruffled organzas. Hammered metal harnessing introduces a hard edge. Mink and leather ankle boots are finished with curved metal ‘horse shoes’.

Nicola pays homage to Thierry Mugler

A homage to les insectes Thierry Mugler s/s 1997 collection with an Asian Japanese accent fully influenced by the creative director Nicola Formichetti, my favorite show of PFW or possibly even the season.
